Over 300 special needs students from Redlands Unified School District participate in Olympics style games and receive ribbons and medals for their efforts. Another 400 high school students assist with the games and act as chaperones.
The Redlands Optimist Club is the largest sponsor of this event in which over 400 eighth grade girls from Redlands, Yucaipa-Calimesa and
Banning schools participate in workshops hosted by successful women in areas including engineering, athletics, medicine and education
as well as many other important fields.
In partnership with the City of Redlands and the California Dept of Fish and Wildlife, the Redlands Optimist Club invites over 100 elementary school students and their families to a day of fishing and fun at Ford Park in Redlands.
The Redlands Optimist Club hosts indoor rock -climbing events for youth served by Youth Hope Foundation and Give Back Foundation. The participants spend several hours climbing, followed by lunch provided by Redlands Optimist Club members.
